Old Tailem Town was first established in 1982 with the doors opening to the public in 1987. Since then, Old Tailem Town has become Australia's largest pioneer village, visited by thousands of tourists every year, including visitors from all over the world.
Come for an hour or a day, and see what life was like for the settlers of South Australia from 1860 to 1960.
There are over 110 buildings for you to visit, all furnished in their period and set in their most natural locations. Displays include railway carriages, trucks, cars, machinery, and memorabilia. and so much more. An authentic 1900's church, 1881 schoolhouse, 1883 hall, the list goes on.
